Directions to the HWK
By Airplane
The closest airport to get to the HWK is Bremen (BRE).
Bremen Airport is connected to the major German airports (e.g. Frankfurt, Munich) as well as to many international airports. There is regular service to and from major hubs like
Amsterdam and Paris‐CDG.
Ground Transportation:
Depending on traffic, the trip to/from the airport by taxi or car takes approximately 20 ‐ 30 minutes. The cost for a taxi to the HWK is approximately 40 EUR. Please note that taxis in Germany will have to be paid in cash. Credit cards are not accepted!
By public transportation, travel time is approximately one hour, and the trip costs 4,75 EUR. Tram #6 takes you directly from the airport to the main station. From there, regional and long-distance trains go to Delmenhorst station. Exit the station on the "City/ZOB" side, cross the street at the traffic lights and find bay "J" of the bus station to your left. Use bus #201 or #206 or #216 (direction "Deichhorst") to get directly from the station to the HWK. Other airports
Hamburg or Hannover airports are also an option for getting to Delmenhorst. Please note that you will need approximately 2-3 hours by train to get to Delmenhorst from those airports.
By Train
Delmenhorst station can be reached by InterCity and regional trains of Deutsche Bahn (DB) or NordWestBahn (NWB). Travel time from Bremen Main Station to Delmenhorst is about 12-15 minutes, from Oldenburg 20-30 minutes. Please click here for information on trains and buying tickets.
Taxi to the HWK
Taxis are available all the time in front of Delmenhorst train station. Travel time to the HWK is approximately 10 minutes. The price is about 12 EUR.
Public Transportation
Exit the station on the "City/ZOB" side, cross the street at the traffic lights and find bay "J" of the bus station to your left. Use bus #201 or #206 or #216 (direction "Deichhorst") to get directly from the station to the HWK. Travel time is about 15 minutes, the price is 2,15 EUR. By Car
From motorway/Autobahn (A28), take exit 21 “Delmenhorst/Deichhorst”. The HWK is signposted from the exit. Turn right onto “Wildeshauser Landstraße” and after approximately 500m you reach a roundabout. Go straight (2nd exit) at the roundabout and continue on the main road. After 200 m turn left at the first traffic lights into a small road going uphill (Lehmkuhlenbusch).
The HWK is located on top of the hill. Parking is available in front of the institute.

Fellow Apartment at the HWK
We have reserved a Fellow apartment on the HWK campus for you. Bed linen and towels are provided.
As there is no cafeteria on campus, we will provide a breakfast for you in your room. Please use the form provided with this link to let us know your arrival and departure time and your preferred breakfast items. Please send the filled form to dpoggel[at]h-w-k.de at the latest a week before your arrival.
If you have to leave early in the morning or on the weekend, we will be happy to preorder a taxi for you for your departure. Please contact Dorothe Poggel or the Reception upon arrival.
