Abstract

Network design is a highly active research area that involves researchers from various fields, including theoretical computer science, graph theory, operations research, discrete optimization,

and game theory. However, research at the intersection of subfields of network design such as survivable network design, robust optimization, and game theory is limited. Learning-augmented algorithms is another emerging research area at the intersection of theoretical computer science and machine learning. Similarly, research at the intersection of network design and learning-augmented algorithms is sparse.

The goal of this workshop is, on the one hand, to connect these different areas of network design and to initiate new research directions; using methods and techniques from one area may improve results in others. On the other hand, the workshop should combine network design and machine-learned predictions via learning-augmented algorithms. This may lead to improved results. The workshop will foster the development of new ideas, research areas, and collaboration.
