Ambulatory assessment methods - all assessment methods that are used to study people in their natural environment such as self-report, observational, and biological, physiological and behavioral assessment methods – are a fairly new research approach in public health research. As more and more technical opportunities advance, the usage of ambulatory assessment methods in public health research thrives.
Therefore, the current workshop will give an overview of the latest ambulatory assessment methods and their usage in the fields of health research, medicine, and psychology by experts in the field. Topics cover ambulatory assessment of movements, hearing, cognition, cortisol measurements, new technologies and current perspectives on ambulatory assessment studies and the use of big data in this field. During the workshop, different ambulatory assessment methods and tools will be presented that can then be tested on-site, to get new ideas and inspiration for upcoming studies using ambulatory assessment methods in public health research.
