The availability of affordable portable computers and powerful presentation software, particularly Microsoft Powerpoint, has greatly affected learning and teaching in the last couple of decades in school and at university. However, in recent years many developments in digital tools and related digital methods have not found their way into class rooms. Why is this the case? The present workshop features three speakers that present and discuss relevant developments of digital methods in higher education: Victoria Szabo (Duke University), Jürgen Handke (Marburg University), and Diogo Casanova (Kingston University London). In addition, there will be a podium discussion on possibilities and challenges regarding digitization of university teaching. The workshop is addressed to faculty at Bremen University, Jacobs University Bremen, and Oldenburg University and is supported by a grant from the NOWETAS foundation.
