Applying for Regular and Junior Fellowships

The Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg awards fellowships to highly qualified scientists at all career stages from postdoc to senior researcher. Applicants may work in any discipline and apply from anywhere in the world (except Northwest Germany). Applications involving experimental and/or laboratory work are welcome, but should include confirmation of access to research infrastructure at a nearby institution.

Fellowships may last 3 to 10 months. Find out more about the different fellowship categories here. Residency at the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg throughout the fellowship is mandatory. Financial conditions are to be negotiated individually after successful application.

Annual Call for Applications

The Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg publishes one annual call for applications with a deadline around mid-July. Applications should be submitted at least one year before the desired commencement of the fellowship. See below for general information on the application and review processes as well as financial conditions.
